The Role and Restrictions of Parenting Coordinators: What They Can’t Do
Hi, my name is Clint Hastings. I’m an attorney in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on fathers’ rights. This is another video in a series about parenting coordinators, and today I’m going to talk about what parenting coordinators cannot do.
In the order appointing a parenting coordinator, there will be a specific list of authority given to them. They are not allowed to go beyond the scope of what they are appointed to do.
Limitations of Parenting Coordinators
Parenting coordinators may be appointed to make decisions on minor visitation disputes or schedule changes, but they cannot make changes to custody, visitation, or child support agreements.
If you feel that a parenting coordinator is overstepping their authority, it is important to address this with your attorney and take appropriate action to correct the situation.
