A Victory in Court: Dismissing a Baseless Protective Order in Oklahoma
A Victory in Court
More evidence that there is hope out there for you guys. My name is Brian L. Jackson. I am a Tulsa fathers’ rights attorney here with Dads.Law where fathers are not disposable and I want to talk about a victory in court today.
I just got back from protective order court a little while ago where I was able to get a judge to dismiss a protective order as legally insufficient based on argument alone and make a finding that the protective order was in fact frivolously filed. In this situation, it was a protective order filed by one individual against another. The individual filing it acknowledged in her pleadings that they were just friends and as a matter of law that is not sufficient to sustain a protective order predicated on harassment which is what this one was predicated on.
The Importance of Having a Good Lawyer
It’s another example of why you want to get a good lawyer involved anytime you’re subject to a PO proceeding because these things can be defeated sometimes quite easily if you’re working with somebody who knows the law really well and knows how to approach the court. So, guys, lesson learned. Get good counsel and there is hope out there.
If you are facing a protective order and you need a good lawyer, one place you can find a good Oklahoma protective order defense lawyer is at Dads.Law where fathers are not disposable. Thank you.
